Hillingdon & District Competitions – Internal Rules 2024

1. The first named entry (home player/challenger), shall offer three dates to the second named opposition (away player). Dates offered should include a combination of evening (general start time 6pm) and weekend (general start time 10am) dates. Matches can be played at any other convenient time subject to mutual agreement. If the away entry has not heard from the challenger seven days before the deadline, the away player can offer just two dates to the original home player. Home advantage to be reversed.  If agreement cannot be reached at least four days prior to the deadline the challenger must contact Tony Bond for advice.

2. The home player in all singles matches is responsible for arranging a marker. In the semi-finals of singles competitions the first named player is responsible (see Rule 6).

3. In the mixed pairs competition entries can play for different clubs. (This will help out with the imbalance of men/ladies entries). However, both players must be members of Hillingdon Competition based clubs who live or work in the London Borough of Hillingdon. In this competition at least one weekend date should be offered, if not more.

4. The mixed triples/fours competition must be mixed AND players from the same club.

5. It is the responsibility of the winners in each round to send the results card to Dawn Rooks, using any of the following:

Photo/Scan via email to: Hillingdondcomps@outlook.com

Photo via WhatsApp to: 0771 294 0254

Photo via Facebook Messenger to: Antony Bond

Post to either:  HDB Comps, 539 Uxbridge Road, Hayes, UB4 8HP

Hand deliver: 'B' Pigeon hole at Rosedale Park Bowls Club

Results must be received within 48hrs after the game has been played and before 10pm on the last play by date.  No telephone calls after 10pm please.

6. The semi-finals are to be played on a date agreed by both parties; there is no need for either party to ‘offer dates’. However, the first named should choose and sort out a neutral venue and take the lead in organising the match. Rosedale Park will be made available whenever possible if requested. In singles matches the first named player is responsible for getting a marker.

7. Failure to attend Finals Day, if you gain a place, will mean a ban from entering the following year’s competitions. Withdrawal from any competition, without good reason, may also result in a ban the following year.

Personal Note

Please enjoy the competitions and try to make every effort to accommodate your opponents regarding dates etc. Remember if you have any issues with arranging dates please contact Antony Bond on 0771 294 0254.
